Twickenham Stadium is set to unveil a range of new culinary experiences, which complement its new meetings and events proposition within the East Stand development. The ‘manapé’ – canapés for the larger appetite, will be just one option for corporate clients looking for a more hearty, filling and substantial entrée, and signals a move away from the traditional dainty bite-sized canapé.
“The manapé selection sits somewhere between canapés and bowl food in size. We want to provide a more substantial option for guests but still allow them the chance to experience something a little different,” said Thomas Rhodes, Executive Head Chef, Twickenham Stadium. “This is Twickenham, home of England Rugby, and through the East Stand proposition we’re trying to offer something new. The manapé is one of a number of new ideas we’re presenting to our clients.”
Many of the manapé options will include miniature versions of popular traditional dishes, such as scaled down burgers or mini club sandwiches. The manapé menu can also sit alongside traditional canapés so that event organisers can cater for all appetites at corporate events.
All of the new menus complement the ethos of the East Stand, which aims to get the industry to think differently about their events and challenge the norm. The multi-million pound redevelopment will offer six floors of creative event space that not only provide new-found match day hospitality options but also offer unexpected and dynamic settings that go far beyond a simple conference or banqueting space.
“This is going to be so much more than a standard conference or gala dinner venue. We want both our spaces and our catering to buck the trend and make clients think differently,” said Twickenham’s Catering and Conference & Events Director, Nils Braude. “Our manapés are fun but still substantial. It provides event organisers with the chance to set themselves apart from their peers from the outset.”
In total the venue will be unveiling over 6,700sqm of contemporary event space and the team is excited to work with clients on new and exciting concepts. The space will be available for hire from December.
