Sue Woolcock has been specially selected by the Head Judge (Rod Bowker) to be an expert judge for the Matchday Hospitality Awards. This judge has been chosen based upon their extensive knowledge and involvement in both the chef and hospitality industries, with over 20 years extensive experience and a passion for driving up standards. Sue Woolcock originally trained as a Teacher and has taught age groups from Nursery to Adult.
She later trained as a Pastry Chef (706/3, 1 & 2 – Highbury College and Thames Valley University) and worked in that role for Von Essen Hotels for 2 years.
She also lectured in Patisserie and Confectionery at Weymouth College of Technology and Bournemouth and Poole College.
Sue and Husband Terry ran a busy seafood restaurant on the south coast for 20 years. Since then, she has worked for 2 hotel companies as a General Manager and more recently, in the Care sector as Head of Catering and Hospitality.
Sue’s career experience in hotels, restaurants and the Care sector has been focused on leading her team to achieve the highest possible food and service standards, and ultimately, consistent customer satisfaction.

Sue has been competing at Salons Culinaire since 1988, mainly in decorative kitchen art, at local and national venues in England, including Hotelympia London, Hospitality Birmingham and the Culinary Olympics Germany.
She has won a number of awards including 3 Hotelympia gold, The Chairman of judges award and 4 Olympic gold medals.
Sue has been a member of the Hotelympia and Hospitality judging teams since 1994.
Sue retired from full time work in 2017, and is now enjoying working part-time at a local Garden Centre.
