Stadium chefs compete in the second #makeitsteak match
The second stadium #makeitsteak match took place on Friday 22 May featuring Mark Quinn, Executive Chef from Aberdeen FC, and Kelly Harris, Executive Chef from Swindon Town FC.
Organised by the AHDB, the challenge was played out on social media with fans voting for their favourite dish. On this occasion it was the “battle of the blades’ since each chef presented a dish featuring Featherblade Steak.
Morag Kent, Head of Marketing for Stadia and Major Events at Sodexo, commented: “Sodexo are delighted to support the #makeitsteak campaign organised by AHDB since supporting our British Farmers is critical during this crisis.”
The winner was Mark Quinn from the Pittordrie Stadium in Aberdeen with his dish of “Braised Blade Steak, Stornoway Black Pudding, Mashed Potatoes, Chunky Garlic Roasted Vegetables served with a Beef Jus”. The final score was 6 – 4 , since Aberdeen FC took 60% of the vote.
Debbie Rigney, Stadium Experience Marketing and PR Manager, said: “Stadium Experience is delighted to support this great initiative and due to the success of the competition it is also open to Rugby and Cricket Stadiums.”
Matches already lined up in the coming weeks include chefs from Manchester City FC, Watford FC, Hampden Park Stadium, Wembley Stadium, Swansea City AFC and many more.
