Gloucester Rugby has seen an increase in business following recent investment, reporting a 56% increase in delegate numbers at the stadium.
Over the last two years Gloucester Rugby has rebranded, installed a new pitch, and installed faster Wi-Fi. Additionally, the club has appointed Angela Sanders as the head of its conference and events team.
The rebrand resulted in an 18% rise in Club memberships and offered the opportunity for the venue to refocus its conference and events offerings through the appointment of Angela Sanders and also Ravin Pankhania.
Since Angelas’ appointment, the venue has also seen a 41% increase in the number of conferences and events taking place at the Kingsholm Stadium, as well as a 26% increase in enquiries from 70 new organisations across the country. The stadium venue also reports an increase in association and third sector clients, representing 25% of the last quarter’s revenue.
Angela Sanders, Head of Conference & Events at the Kingsholm Stadium, commented: “We have a lot more to offer here than just rugby. With only 16 matchdays a year, fixed well in advance, we have significant opportunity to host a wide range of events, conferences and meetings. Implementing new changes and making the most of non-match days has meant that we have seen vast increases in sales and are well up on budget year on year. I am really pleased with our recent success and look forward to seeing the conferencing and events department continue to grow as it supports Gloucester Rugby from a commercial point of view.”
