Stadium Experience Expands its Leadership Team

Stadium Experience has grown it’s Leadership Team, with a new recruit joining the voluntary group – Claire Bates.

Claire Bates, Business Development Executive at Leicester Tigers Rugby Club, has stepped up to assist with the management of the not-for-profit association, which now works with 60 football and rugby clubs across the UK and Ireland.

The Leadership Team meets regularly to discuss and guide the strategic direction of the association, which primarily aims to promote the use of stadium venues for conferences, meetings and events. Claire brings a wealth of conference and events experience to the team, as well as strengthening representation of rugby club members within the Leadership Team.

About Claire Bates…

Having started her career in the hospitality industry heading up marketing & events for an independent pub chain, Claire moved on to work for International companies such as Molson Coors Brewery and Coca-Cola European Enterprises. Claire joined the Conference & Events team at the Leicester Tigers Stadium in February 2018 as Business Development Executive. For the past year Claire’s main focus has been to increase the Stadiums exposure online and via social media, and to drive new agency business. As the club moves forward with a new hospitality and catering partnership, Claire will continue to be a key part of the business development for both agency and corporate clients.

She commented: “I’m really excited to be given the opportunity to work alongside the Stadium Experience Leadership Team. It will be great to represent the world of Rugby and help promote the unique venues Stadium Experience collaborates with.”

The Stadium Experience Leadership Team is a voluntary group of members who lead the strategic direction of the not-for-profit association. The team currently includes:

Sue France – Sales Manager at Wigan Athletic FC (Treasurer)

Adam Pollington – Commercial Manager – Conference & Events at Tottenham Hotspur FC
Jennifer Barry – Conference & Events Sales Manager at Stoke City FC
Claire Bates – Business Development Executive at Leicester Tigers Rugby Club
Debbie Rigney – Marketing & PR Manager for Stadium Experience

Collette Salmon, Chair of Stadium Experience, said: “We are delighted to welcome Claire to join our Leadership Team. Stadium Experience was established 17 years ago with the aim of sharing best practice and networking focusing purely on the conference and events side of the football stadium business. In 2013, we expanded Stadium Experience membership to include rugby venues too, and as we continue to grow and develop, it is only right that we should extend the rugby venue experience and expertise into our Leadership Team too.”
