Hampden Park named Scottish Sports Venue of the Year
Hampden Park – Scotland’s National stadium in Glasgow, has picked up a third honour in recognition of its first-class hospitality offering. Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events, the stadium’s long-term catering and events partner, collected the ‘Sports Venue of the Year’ award at the Scottish Hospitality Awards 2017.
The Scottish Sports Venue accolade follows the venue’s success at the Stadium Events & Hospitality Awards 2017 – where it received the Matchday Hospitality Awards – Large Stadium honour, and beat off competition from 36 stadia across the UK, to lift the Overall Matchday Hospitality Award.
Established last year, The Scottish Hospitality Awards 2017 celebrate the best in the hospitality industry and welcomed 200 guests to a prize giving dinner at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow.
Venues are nominated by the general public, with the most voted for selected as finalists, before an independent panel of judges selected the winners. Hampden Park secured the accolade against venues including Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium, Celtic Park, Motherwell and Ibrox Stadium.

Hampden Park recently underwent a major refurbishment which saw the venue’s 26 executive boxes updated and rebranded as ‘Skyboxes’ to reflect their envious vantage point over the famous Hampden Pitch. The North Stand lounge was also transformed in to a modern events space and renamed the ‘Skylounge’, providing a brand new area for private and corporate bookings.
